Luke 23:18-25
In Luke 23:18-25, they certainly thought so. They had Him in their hands. And the plot they’d been hatching and playing from had gotten them exactly where they wanted to be.
1. He was impaled on the Cross dying by one of the most cruel and painful forms of ritual execution devised by man.
2. He was hanging from a tree, shamed, naked, bloodied, derided and cursed by God like Deuteronomy 21:22-23 demanded of the worst criminals by their law.
3. Too, all this was right on schedule, their schedule.
But did they really have Him? We all know the answer. But do we really know how, where and when the grand reversal came about?
