Luke 22:31-34
The Lord Jesus warned Peter and the other disciples that Satan has demanded permission to sift them like wheat. But the Lord Jesus, being omniscient, knew that His disciples may fall into Satan’s traps that is why He prayed that their faith may not fail. The brash and overly confident Peter was quick to assure the Lord Jesus that he will not leave Him even unto death, but Jesus rebuked and told him that before the cock crows, he will deny Him 3 times.
