The Futility of Life Apart from God

Solomon explores the limitations of earthly wisdom and labor. While acknowledging wisdom is better than folly, he laments that both face the same fate. He concluded that ultimately all are meaningless when pursued “under the sun”, because death makes no distinction between the wise and the fool. He concludes that true satisfaction and fulfillment comes only as a gift from God, who enables people to enjoy the fruit of their labor.
