The Dangers of Deception

The account of Ananias and Sapphira shows the dangers of deceit and hypocrisy. Ananias sold his land and claimed to donate all the money to the church, but he secretly kept part of it with his wife’s full agreement. Because they lied to the Holy Spirit, they faced sudden judgment and died instantly. This event filled the early church and everyone who heard about it with deep reverence and awe.
