Luke 23:8-17
Jesus’ trial is underway. Pilate, having found Jesus not guilty of the accusations leveled by the chief priests, has sent him to Herod to see if he can deal with him. Herod is at first delighted. But his meeting with Jesus soon turns sour and he sends him back to Pilate. The Roman governor is forced to deal with Jesus. Both men respond in different ways to our Lord, but the outcome is the same: rejection of an innocent man.
