A Portrait of the Protomartyr

October 4, 2026

Book: Acts

Language: English

Scripture: Acts 6:8-15

This portion of Scripture is about Stephen who was chosen to serve the widows in the early church but was called to a difficult and deadly task for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Despite the uncertainty of his actions before the Jewish leaders, his courage never wavered. On the contrary, Stephen’s face was even described as like the face of an angel, symbolic of peace and confidence in his condition. Although his life was shortened by the enemies of the Lord, his life story is preserved for all the believers to see.
