Foolishness in Boasting: Glory in Suffering

As the Corinthian church continues to be influenced by the so-called “super-apostles,” Paul is compelled to defend himself by arguing on their terms, by “answering the fools according to their folly” (Prov. 26:5). Yet Paul turns their standards upside down: instead of listing his achievements, he lists his hardships for the sake of the church.
