Hope in the Midst of Trouble

Paul wanted the Corinthian church to be aware of what happened to them in Asia: that they were afflicted and burdened beyond their strength; that they trusted not on themselves but on God who raises the dead and delivered them from the peril of death; and that they were helped through the prayers of many.
