What is the gospel?

Throughout history, from Abraham, Moses, and David, to Caesar and the likes of Hitler, all have fallen short of God’s glory. The consequence of sin is severe: death and eternal punishment in the fires of hell, a just outcome for our wickedness.

Human efforts – good deeds, charity, or religious practices – fall short of God’s standard of perfection. He is holy and requires that all people be holy. The grim reality is that no one is righteous on their own, and humanity’s destiny is eternal condemnation.

However, the message of hope lies in the life and sacrifice of God’s son Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a life without sin, fulfilling God’s requirement for perfection. His crucifixion was not just a tragic event but a deliberate sacrifice, where He bore the punishment meant for all humanity.

By dying in our place, Jesus created a pathway back to God.

This gift of grace is available to all who confess and turn away from sin, and believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

All who receive Christ will be cleansed of their sins, forgiven, and adopted into God’s family. They will be spared from eternal punishment in hell and instead receive the promise of heaven – of God’s all-satisfying presence, glory and love, forever.

Will you place your faith in Jesus and accept this gift of salvation?
